YouTube Thumbnail Preview

See your thumbnail and title the way viewers will: on the home page, in the mobile feed, in search results and next to other videos — in dark and light theme.

How to use

  1. Drop your thumbnail into the box above or click to choose it.
  2. Type the video title and your channel name.
  3. Check every layout in both themes and fix the text or image if something gets lost.

Questions and answers

Why preview a thumbnail before publishing?

Viewers see thumbnails at very different sizes — large on the home page, tiny next to other videos. A preview shows whether the text stays readable and the main subject stands out at every size.

How long can a YouTube title be?

Up to 100 characters, but YouTube usually shows only the first 50–70 depending on the layout. The counter shows the length, and the cards show where the title gets cut.

Is my image uploaded anywhere?

No. The preview is built in your browser and the image never leaves your device.

Does the preview match YouTube exactly?

It closely reproduces YouTube's sizes, spacing and fonts, but YouTube updates its design from time to time, so treat it as a close approximation.
