How many words per minute is normal?

Most people speak 130–150 words per minute in videos. Calm narration is about 110, energetic short-form videos 160–180.

How long can a YouTube Short be?

Up to 3 minutes. The calculator tells you whether your script fits into 60 seconds or 3 minutes at the chosen pace.

Does it work for any language?

Yes. Words are counted with the browser's language rules, so languages without spaces, like Japanese and Chinese, are counted correctly too.
